Specimen Notes Tree 16 in. in diameter. Tree Carya No.2 from the south of this colony; leaflets 7. There are 4 trees here along the terrace of the Wabash River which is 6 mi. to the west.

Habitat On sandy ridge in open dry-mesic upland forest and successional woodland. Associated species: Ampelamus albidus, Bidens bipinnata, Celtis occidentalis, Diospyros virginiana, Elymus villosus, Helianthus divaricatus, Juglans nigra, Maclura pomifera, Mirabilis nyctaginea, Morus alba, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Persicaria virginiana, Phytolacca americana, Quercus alba, Quercus velutina, Sassafras albidum, Toxicodendron radicans. Part 1 of 2: branch and leaves.
